Alan Roger Currie, author of the international bestselling paperback for single men, Mode One: Let the Women Know What You’re REALLY Thinking, released a new book on December 15, 2011 entitled Oooooh . . . Say it Again: Mastering the Fine Art of Verbal Seduction and Aural Sex. Oooooh … Say it Again is Currie’s third paperback since Mode One was released in February 2006. Currie’s second paperback is entitled Upfront and Straightforward: Let the Manipulative Game Players Know What You’re REALLY Thinking.

At least four times in the last six weeks, Currie has seen all three of his paperbacks ranked in Amazon.com’s Top 100 Bestsellers in the category of “Relationships / Dating,” which would make him only the second African American male to accomplish this feat in the last five years (the other author would be Tariq Nasheed). Both Mode One and Oooooh … Say it Again are also available in Amazon.com’s Kindle eBook format.

Currie’s first paperback, Mode One, has been sold in over fifteen different countries, and is still very popular among single heterosexual men all over the world. Mode One was written by Currie to encourage men to approach women with more confidence and converse with women in a more forthright manner, and express their romantic and sexual desires, interests and intentions to women in a more highly self-assured, upfront, unapologetic, and straightforwardly honest manner.

Currie’s second paperback, Upfront and Straightforward, was released in April 2009 and was the featured textbook for an adult education college course Currie taught in Northwest Indiana entitled “Dating for 21st Century Singles.” The book identifies many of the more common “manipulative head games” that both men and women tend to employ with one another in today’s dating scene. In the book, Currie encourages men and women to get away from behavior that is dishonest, disingenuous, duplicitous, and misleading with members of the opposite sex.

Currie’s newest book, Oooooh … Say it Again, is without question Currie’s most provocative, risqué, and erotically explicit book the author has written to date. Part One of the book discusses how men and women are socialized differently in regard to their attitude toward sex, and Currie describes the five different levels of sexual interest that women tend to exhibit with men of interest. Part Two includes six stories that emphasize examples of Currie’s “verbal seduction” mindset and dialogue with single women of interest. Currie also uses a portion of the book to discuss what he feels is still the “800 pound gorilla” in American society, which is polyamorous dating and casual sex. Currie also emphasizes the practice of safe sex habits throughout the book.

Here's my take Tim:

Even though you still have some quality women out here in society, the percentage of them has DECREASED SIGNIFICANTLY from my mother's and grandmothers' generation.

More specifically, there are THREE (3) MAJOR GROUPS of women who have become more prominent in society over the last 15, 20, 25 years that has had a negative effect on male-female relationships:

1) The Gold Digger / Financial Favor Exploiter

These women are not looking for genuine male companionship, but rather, they are looking for men who will buy them materialistic gifts and offer to subsidize their desired lifestyle.

Who enables these women? Men who are looking to attract women, and impress women, with their six-figure or seven-figure salaries and their various material possessions.

Negative effects & repercussions: You end up having a lot of phony, disingenuous relationships between men and women that have ulterior motives and underlying agendas involved instead of any true love or profound emotional bonding.

2) The Attention Whore / Cock Teaser

This relates to the woman in your photo Tim, who put herself in a dangerous position on an escalator just to get attention. The Attention Whore is the woman who will do damn near anything for publicity and/or flattering attention; She will sacrifice or compromise her sense of self-respect and personal dignity just to get noticed.

The cock teaser is similar, but a little different. This is a woman who loves to dress provocatively and behave toward men in a sexually flirtatious manner just to see if she can get men sexually aroused, and motivate them to give her boat loads of flattering attention. The reality is, she has no plans on dating these men or having [casual] sex with these men. She just wants to get a rise out of them in order to gain egotistical satisfaction.

Who enables these women? Men who love to drool over and flirt with women simply because they are wearing something sexy or behaving in an erotically flirtatious manner. This is exactly why I am MODE ONE with women. My attitude is, if you're not offering to give me any punani, then don't flirt with me in a sexually provocative manner.

Negative effects & repercussions: This puts women in a position to be date raped and potentially stalked. At minimum, it causes men to lose respect for women, and develop a misogynistic attitude toward women who they eventually begin to refer to as "bitches" and "whores."

3) The Women who prefer to be a "Baby Mama" rather than a wife & mother

In the 21st Century, a lot of women no longer even pursue marriage as a dating & relationships goal or objective. The poster Scott Newman expressed many of my sentiments above.

Some women do not want a husband or kids, and then there are many other women who want children, but they do not really care to be married and build a two-parent family structure. Again, this was practically unheard of in my mother's and grandmothers' generation.

Who enables these women? For many of these types of women, they are self-enabled. You really can't put a significant percentage of blame on men for this category. Men do not really enable such behavior.

Negative effects & repercussions: The less households in society with a two-parent family structure, the more children are being brought up by either a single mom or a single dad, or a back-and-forth sharing of time with the kids between the two. Many daughters grow up not knowing what it means to respect a father figure, and many sons grow up looking at women as simply sex partners and baby makers.

If women don't have children period, then there is no one to carry on their DNA, their name and/or their legacy indefinitely.

All of these three categories is probably what motivated Tim to have to write, direct and produce a film entitled "Diary of a Tired Black Man," even though much of what I discuss here affects Caucasian men and women, Hispanic men and women and Asian men and women.

This generation of male-female relationships has changed dramatically, but not necessarily for the better.

"I tried to resist, but I just feel compelled to clarify some things...

1) I, as the Host, never promised to shorten the interview from 90 minutes; My show, "Upfront & Straightforward with Alan Roger Currie," records live on Thursday evenings, and starts at 10:00pm EST. My actual interviews and discussions with guests usually start at approximately 10:20pm EST. My interviews run as long as until 11:55pm EST, and at minimum, until 11:25pm if not many listeners call into the show.

On one end, I did promise Ms. Nelson that the show would not run until 11:55pm EST due to her being under the weather, but I never promised to end the interview before 11:25pm EST. At approximately 11:17pm EST, Ms. Nelson expressed an emphatic disinterest in continuing the interview, so consequently, I excused her from the interview.

2) I had no plans of discussing the idea of "jump off" / casual sex extensively with Ms. Nelson. During the opening portion of my show, I mentioned that I have an upcoming guest who I will interview on Thursday, May 12, 2011 who wrote an article about men who are "demonized" for expressing their desire for casual sex in an upfront, straightforward manner.

That is at least half of what my book, "Mode One: Let the Women Know What You're REALLY Thinking," is all about. It is a book that encourages single heterosexual men to be upfront and straightforwardly honest about their desire for short-term and/or non-monogamous sex, instead of "pretending" as though they are interested in a long-term monogamous relationship with a woman.

When Sophia heard me discuss the nature of my interview with this upcoming guest, she said during our intermission conversation that she thought (paraphrasing) that "casual sex is the wrong objective for men to have, regardless of whether you are upfront and straightforward about it or not." Since Ms. Nelson expressed such a strong disdain for the primary philosophy that my book is based on, I suggested that we discuss it during the interview. She AGREED to do so. I did not obligate her to discuss this issue nor did I "force" the discussion of this issue upon her.

3) I don't want to necessarily speak for Jason (the listener who called in), but I can say this from knowing Jason as a friend since Summer of 2009: Jason does not "hate" Black women. Jason's daughter, obviously, is African-American. Jason actually once prevented a Black woman from being raped, and held the potential rapist in check until the police arrived. If Jason "hated" Black women, why would he exhibit such protective behavior toward a Black woman, and come to her rescue?

Jason and I are similar: We love Black women, but we are NOT willing to accept, condone, or compliment EVERY aspect and facet of their behavior. There are SOME ... and I emphasize the word "some" .... Black women who feel like they should NEVER, EVER be criticized for anything they do and/or say, especially if the criticisms are being expressed out of the mouth of a Black man.

No human being walking this earth is flawless. Black men have strengths and flaws, Black women have strengths and flaws, and men and women of all races, cultures and ethnic groups have their own set of desirable attributes and undesirable attributes.

There is love, and then there is "tough love." Both Bruthas and Sistahs many times need "tough love." Not just by their parents, teachers and elders, but even by their own peers and members of the opposite gender.

There was no "hatred" displayed toward Ms. Nelson during my show. Many of the male listeners who called in simply had a number of opinions that differed from Ms. Nelson's opinions. My main difference of opinion had very little, if anything, to do with her upcoming book, "Black Woman Redefined." I have not read the book yet, so obviously I could never offer a valid opinion and/or evaluation of the contents of her soon-to-be-released hardcover.

My main contention with her and debate had to do with, again, the primary philosophy that is associated with MY book, which is the concept of men expressing their romantic and/or sexual desires, interests and intentions to women in a manner that is more highly self-assured, upfront, unapologetic and straightforwardly honest.

In addition to members of my own gender, you know who has complimented my book? WOMEN. Young and old, educated and uneducated, church-going and non-church going women. Many women in society are tired of being lied to by men, misled by men and manipulated by men. More specifically, they are tired of men "pretending" to truly care for them, and "pretending" to have a genuine interest in developing and maintaining a long-term, emotionally profound, monogamous relationship when in reality, all these men want is a few days, a few weeks or a few months of physically satisfying casual sex.

What I say to men in my book is, "If casual sex is indeed your objective, why not have the balls to let women know that from the get-go? That way, she is the one who is ultimately making the choice to indulge or not to indulge." Men understand that AND women understand that.

Manipulative "head games" have left many men and women hurt, frustrated and cynical. Both of my paperbacks are my effort to discourage single men and single women from employing head games toward one another for self-serving objectives.

And that objective, my fellow bruthas and sistahs, is representative of anything BUT "immaturity" and/or "foolishness."

I wish Ms. Nelson nothing but success with the release of her upcoming book, and the subsequent sales I'm sure she will experience and enjoy."

This is the question posed by Book Author and Talk Radio Host Alan Roger Currie after finding out that his former friend and BlogTalkRadio colleague Steve "The Dean" Williams has been spreading lies and gossip-laden remarks about Currie and his past dating relationship with his former girlfriend, Tyler Collins.

The acts of slander and libel started on the popular Attraction & Seduction Community website, PuaHate.com, where Williams posted on the website's discussion forum about his thoughts on Currie's past relationship with Collins. Williams, who has a reputation for harshly criticizing and insulting African-American women, women who are 35 years of age or older, and single mothers, went on the attack against Currie, suggesting that Currie had 'contradicted' his Mode One philosophies and principles by pursuing Collins, who was 42 at the time and has a pre-teen daughter. "Why is Alan going after old Black women with kids?" Williams was quoted as saying on PuaHate.com as well as other podcast interviews.

Currie, who was involved romantically with Collins off-and-on between August 2009 and June 2010, was accused by Williams on PuaHate.com of exhibiting 'unmanly' behavior for expressing hurt after the two broke up in mid-February 2010, and later after the two broke up a second time in mid-June 2010.

Williams was formerly a friend of Currie's, with the two co-hosting a podcast program entitled, The Black Book Café from October 2006 until April 2007. Williams moved to the BlogTalkRadio Internet Radio Network in late April 2007 with a talk radio podcast program entitled Men on Dating, where Currie would act as a regular guest co-host and dating & relationships commentator.

In June 2007, Currie left Williams' program and started his own BlogTalkRadio program entitled Balls Out Talk with Mode One, which was later renamed to Upfront & Straightforward with Alan Roger Currie. Between 2008 and 2010, Currie and Williams were guests on each other's BTR talk radio podcast programs, the last time being mid-July 2010 when Williams was a featured guest on Currie's program to discuss the art of seducing women and pros and cons of the Attraction & Seduction Community.

"I can handle men or women criticizing me for something I have actually done, but don't offer criticisms and/or insults about fictitious activities, events and behavior," said Currie, referring to Williams' comments about his past relationship with Ms. Collins. "This man (Williams) is spreading lies about me, half-truths, and gross distortions about a relationship that he knows very little about. It is really sad to see someone engage in such immature gossip, and stab you in the back after initially referring to you as a 'friend.' Our former friendship is permanently severed," added Currie.

Currie has challenged Williams to 'clear the air' publicly on his talk radio show, but Williams has refused his invitation, and has avoided speaking to Currie on the phone. "I thought 'real men' talk out their differences like men, but obviously, Williams' definition of a 'real man' is totally different than mine. I have never avoided speaking to a man over-the-phone in my entire adult life. Very few men intimidate me in real life, let alone, via the telephone," said Currie.

Currie has stated that his 'beef' with Williams started in early-to-mid October 2010 when Williams expressed disappointment and frustration that he was not invited to be a featured speaker at The Direct Approach Dating Summit for Men 2010 which was held November 20 & 21, 2010 in London, England. "My question is, if Williams 'lost respect' for me because of the behavior I exhibited while in a relationship with Ms. Collins, why was he a guest on my show in mid-July 2010? Ms. Collins and I broke up for the second time in mid-June 2010. Why did he remain in communication with me (by phone and e-mail) up until early-to-mid October 2010? The truth is Williams started his 'beef' with me because he felt overlooked by the organizers of the Direct Approach Dating Summit. He was frustrated. All of his behavior, comments and actions since have been immature, fabricated, and vindictive," added Currie. "The facts speak for themselves."

PuaHate.com, a message board and discussion forum officially described as being at The Forefront Of The Anti-Pickup-Artist Movement recently banned Book Author and Talk Radio Host Alan Roger Currie for criticizing the website for spreading lies about him, his personal life and the contents of his books.

Currie firmly believes that PuaHate.com specifically seeks to attack, defame and distort the image and reputation of many heterosexual and African American dating and relationship experts, book authors and seduction experts. PuaHate.com was originally created with the intention of revealing the scams, deception, and misleading marketing techniques used by Dating Gurus and the Seduction Community to deceive men and profit from them. In recent months though, PuaHate.com has been quite frequently branded as a discussion forum that allows supporters of racism, feminism, lesbianism, gay rights and anti-heterosexism to post blatant lies, half-truths, and distortions of heterosexual male dating and relationship book authors and experts.

Currie had threatened the owners and administrators of PuaHate.com with future legal action if they continued to engage in internet defamation of his character, as well as internet libel and online slander. Some anonymous posters on PuaHate.com have used photographs of Currie, his ex-girlfriend Tyler Collins, and excerpts of Currie's books and intellectual property to distort his name, image and reputation. Currie's attorneys in California are investigating his claims.

On Wednesday, March 23, 2011, PuaHate.com banned Alan Roger Currie from posting on their message board and discussion forum. Currie has not been able to defend himself against the repeated lies and distortions regarding his personal life and his principles and philosophies related to The Mode One Approach. "Most of the anonymous posters on PuaHate.com are believed to be lesbian and/or feminist women posing as men," said Currie. PuaHate.com has been rumored to attract many supporters of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender causes who have developed a deep-seated hatred of the Pickup Artist (PUA) community and the Attraction and Seduction Community.

Currie is seeking to have all lies, half-truths and slanderous distortions of him and his books to be removed from PuaHate.com. "I respect those who pursue alternative sexual lifestyles such as homosexuality, but I do not think it is fair that dating and relationship book authors who are very pro-heterosexual are subject to having lies told about them by men and women who are emphatically against heterosexual dating," added Currie.

HBO's "Entourage" is back!! (my favorite TV show)

I don't watch too much television these days, but if there is one show I never miss an episode of, it is HBO's "Entourage." That show is so well-written, and many times, Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) exhibits Mode One Behavior! I love the character of Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven), as well as the characters of Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Johnny 'Drama' Chase (Kevin Dillon). Talk Dirty To Me ... Starring John Leslie as "Jack"

I receive a lot of questions about how the idea for my "Mode One" book first came about. There were a number of different factors that influenced my ever-changing attitudes and beliefs towards interacting with women, but if I had to single out one of the Top 2, Top 3 outside influences that inspired the development of what is now referred to as Mode One Behavior, it would definitely be the behavior of John Leslie's character of the cocky, ultra-straightforward, incorrigible womanizer named simply "Jack" in the adult-film classic Talk Dirty To Me, Talk Dirty To Me, Part II, and Nothing To Hide.

If you read this particular webpage of mine, you will see just how much influence the bold, unconventional, highly self-assured, and provocatively straightforward behavior of Leslie's "Jack" had on me as a teenager.

I even had a manager of an adult video store in Van Nuys, CA tell me that message board and blog discussions of my Mode One book resulted in a significant increase in requests for VHS and DVD copies of the above mentioned films (see related article).

The thing I tell guys about that opening verbal seduction scene in Talk Dirty To Me is that it's not Jack's X-rated candor that distinguishes his behavior as "Mode One." It is more so how totally unfazed Jack is by the female physician's harsh, subjective criticisms and insults about his moral character and perceived lack of appropriate verbal etiquette and manners.

Some of the fellas from DirectMethod.net have uploaded a portion of that opening scene from Talk Dirty To Me to such video sites as YouTube and vSocial.

Mode One VS The Mystery Method

I wanted to give you guys an idea of why I recommend both "The Mystery Method" and "God is a Woman: Dating Disasters," and was trying to figure out how. Fortunately, Ian Coburn, the author of the latter, made a very relevant blog entry yesterday about how he prefers to challenge a woman over insulting her to keep her ego in check. Here is part of it. (You can read the whole blog at www.didyoustoptothink.blogspot.com.) Notice the similarities here, yet a key difference:

Let's take a club as a scenario. If I go to a club, I'm strictly going to dance or to get laid. I'm not looking for my next girlfriend. Clubs are loud and a high-percentage of the women are high-maintenance, needing constant ego boosts, a man who is willing to continually prove his worth, and so forth. I'm simply too lazy for all that. What are the obstacles at a club? Noise, other guys, and, of course, her friends, whomever "she" might be. Again, I'm lazy, so I want to remove as many obstacles as possible using the least amount of steps possible.

A guy meets a woman at the club. He finds out she's a model. He insults her occasionally to keep her ego in check with lines like, "You're not that pretty for a model," and, "They must do some serious airbrushing on your shots." This puts her on the defense and makes things combative. It works because she feels a strong need to prove she is worthy of all the good treatment men usually give her, so she'll come back for more, as she tries to prove the guy wrong. They're still in the club and have all the obstacles thereof but at least he's gotten through her defenses.

I meet the same woman. When I find out she's a model, I challenge her. "You're not really a model . . . you're too articulate to be a model, from what I've heard . . ." I flatter her while I challenge. She's not defensive or combative. I keep pushing. She's a model; she can't be too far from a portfolio or photos of herself. They may be in her home, hotel room, or car. THAT'S where I want to be. If I keep challenging, while mixing in flirting and witty banter, she'll prove she's a model by taking me to the lair of her portfolio. Hell, she may just have a few photos in her purse. When she takes them out and hands them to me, I comment, "It's too dark in here," and turn to leave.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm taking these outside, where there's some light, so I can see them."

She'll follow, not wanting to lose her pictures. There's no time to tell her friends where she's going. Once outside, guess what? No noise, no other guys, not one of her friends. And we're looking at sexy pictures of her. I keep challenging. "Do you have any of you in bikinis? Are you wearing this bra right now?" You get the drift. Wherever I wind up with her, we're alone. She's no idiot, she's knows the game I'm playing; she's been playing it, too. She'll throw me signs about how far she wants it to progress. I've had women take me back to their place and make me wait in the lobby, while they run up to get some of their artwork or photo shoots, to bring back and show me. I've had others bring me right up into their place. Which ones want things to go further? If you can't figure that out, there's no help for you. Challenging removes the obstacles, which is why I prefer it.

Okay, that works for models only, Ian. Use your imagination. Near beaches, I've challenged women to races along the sand. In ski resorts, I've challenged women to contests to see who can make the best snow angel. Again, they know what I'm doing. I'm getting them alone. Women aren't stupid, they're way ahead of us most of the time. They just need an excuse to be unaccountable for what might occur and I'm giving it to them. "He wouldn't give me my pictures back until I gave him a kiss. He was such a good kisser, one thing led to another . . ." In truth, I'm playing more into their hands than they are into mine.

Try challenging. Like anything else, it takes practice to get the hang of it. What do you have to lose? If it doesn't work, you can always fall back on insulting her. No harm, no foul.

That's the end of the blog. See? Both talk about the same obstacles but have different ways of getting around them. Mystery talks about how women want "plausible deniability." Ian calls it "unaccountability." Every guy should have a copy of each of these books. These guys are good. (BTW, in his book, in recalls the time he got two models to put on a private lingerie show for him using the challenge approach.)

My Response:

If those techniques work, then I won't criticize them.

But in my experience, both techniques take way too much effort, and are way too deceptive and/or manipulative.

My approach (The "Mode One" approach) is all about highly self-assured, upfront, unapologetic, straightforward honesty. No manipulative head games, no NLP gimmicks, no psychological "tricks."

My 'formula' is simply this: An exceptionally high degree of confidence + straightforward honesty + no fear of rejection and/or criticism = one hell of a psychological 'aphrodisiac' with women.

Example:

Man (approaching model at nightclub): "So ... should we share each others company next Friday or next Saturday ...."

Female model: "Excuse me??"

Man w/ Mode One approach: "You're excused. (pause) So. Which day works best for you? Next Friday or next Saturday? Or would you suggest another weekend in the next 2 to 4 weeks?"

Model (Response "A" - Rejection): "I'm sorry, but I'm just not interested."

[Comment: You do not 'beg' for this woman's attention and/or companionship. You simply leave her alone. If a woman is not interested in dating you and/or having sex with you, the worse thing you can do is "beg" for her attention. If you do, you're basically asking to be used and manipulated]

Model (Response "B" - Resistance): "You're very sure of yourself, aren't you?? What makes you think I would be interested in sharing your company in the near future ... when I don't even KNOW you??"

Man (slightly cocky smirk on his face): "Well ... we'll just have to get together in a week or two so that you can find out what makes me so interesting and dynamic. (pause) So ... why don't you write down your phone number or Email address, and I'll contact you to set up a specific time for next Friday or Saturday...."

Model (Response "C" - Immediate Reciprocation): "I love your approach! How original!! My name is [her name] ... what is yours?? (man says his name) You have me curious. I'm intrigued. I would have no problem hooking up with you next weekend...."

Trust me. The "Mode One" approach has been used by MANY MEN, and they've received productive results. Again, I'm not saying that Ian or Mystery's techniques are 'ineffective' ... I'm sure they work for some guys ... but I just think you're going through a lot of trouble to manipulate women when there is no guarantee of reciprocal results.

Preventing and/or Avoiding Rejection Is Not The Answer

One problem I have with many of the books currently on the market that deal with approaching women, interacting with women, attracting women, and/or seducing women is that they put too much emphasis on the idea of preventing and/or avoiding rejection or negative/unenthusiastic reactions and responses from women.

And that, in my opinion, is a huge mistake.

Anytime your primary goal when approaching a woman is to receive a positive, enthusiastic response and reaction from her, you're essentially setting yourself up to be potentially manipulated by that particular woman.

Why? Read Chapter Two and Chapter Three in my book "Mode One" to find out the answers....
